PR 9 – Levada do Caldeirão Verde is one of Madeira’s most impressive levada hikes, taking you through the lush Laurissilva forest of Queimadas towards the spectacular Caldeirão Verde waterfall. The trail follows a historic levada through deep green forest, dramatic mountain scenery and several atmospheric tunnels.

The highlight is the beautiful Caldeirão Verde, where a tall waterfall drops into a natural lagoon surrounded by steep green cliffs. PR 9 is an excellent choice for hikers looking for waterfalls, tunnels, forest scenery and an authentic Madeira hiking experience.
