Several Madeira hikes feature spectacular waterfalls, particularly routes through the island’s lush interior. PR9 Levada do Caldeirão Verde is one of the best-known, leading through Laurissilva forest and tunnels to a dramatic waterfall. PR6 Levada das 25 Fontes and Levada do Risco also offer beautiful waterfall and cascade scenery. Water flow varies with rainfall and season, so the waterfalls can look very different from one visit to another.
