Toilets are not generally available along Madeira’s hiking trails. Some popular trailheads, visitor areas and nearby facilities may have public toilets, but you should not expect facilities once you are on the trail. It’s best to use the toilet before starting, especially on longer hikes, and always follow Leave No Trace principles by protecting Madeira’s natural environment.
